TRIBECA DAY 2
NEW YORK, NY – APRIL 15: Tribeca Film Festival Day 2. Today I’m shooting for The Hollywood Reporter and my assignments have me all over the city. I start off at the SVA Theater on 23rd street. Its an absolutely beautiful day. My first assignment is shooting actor Tom Hiddleston who promoting his new movie ‘The Night Manager’. Got to shoot with photogs and friends Mireya Acierto, Rob Kim, and Jim Spellman, which is always fun! I had enough time before my next assignment so Mireya, Rob, and I walked down 23rd street to “Lucky’s Famous Burgers” for a quick lunch and to process and post our first job to the Getty site.
My second assignment is at the John Zuccotti Theater @ BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and I’m here to shoot J.J. Abrams and Hopefully Chris Rock who will be here to moderate a conversation with J.J.. Unfortunately I don’t get Chris Rock. Check out the J.J. pics below.
My last assignment today takes me uptown to The Beacon theater to shoot the ‘I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead’ premiere. Its a documentary about DJ Steve Aoki. I haven’t seen Steve in about 2 years when I photographed him on top of a New York City tour bus en-route to Madison Square Garden where he would announce his first concert at the venue. During the ride he took the time to meet and learn everyone on the buses name. It was like you would see someone with an amazing memory on a tv talk show… Fast forward to tonight, 2 years later, I reminded Steve about the bus ride two years earlier and asked him, “What’s my name?” He looked at me and said, “Mike”. Wow.
